World Cup For Free: No TV, No Cable, No Subscriptions Necessary!!!

Stuck in the office during an important match? Here's a quick guide on How To Watch World Cup for Free, Live, Streaming Online in the US....

ESPN360

Unfortunately, ESPN is only allowing select subscribers to watch matches live online and streaming for free. I don't use AT&T for my internet at home, so I am ineligible to use ESPN3.com to watch WC. Bummer.

Justin.TV

Pirated streams are sometimes available, but you generally need to be pretty crafty about your search queries. Lots of the streams on this notorious site are fake or simply advertisements for pay sites. JustinTV is trying desperately to clean up their stolen content, so finding a rip of ESPN has become pretty difficult.

Quick tip: use other languages to find a game. Example: Instead of searching Greece-Argentina, search Grecia to get a Spanish language transmission that their crawlers haven't flagged yet.

Univision

This is the holy grail of free online transmission. Not sure how they get to live stream for free without charging, but it appears to be a very fortuitous loophole in the ESPN licensing agreement for this years World Cup

The catch here is that all live streams have Spanish-language commentary. On the upside, you'll never hear Alexi Lalas scream GOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!! on ABC.
